Geert-Henk Koops has over 30 years of work experience in the field of water treatment and membrane science. Geert-Henk currently holds the position of Technical Director at NX Filtration starting from June 2022. Prior to this, they were the Global Technology Leader ES Products at SUEZ - Water Technologies & Solutions from October 2017 to May 2022, where they led a global team of approximately 100 researchers and engineers responsible for product development in water treatment. Their role encompassed various products such as hollow fiber pressurized and immersed UF products, MBR, MABR, spiral wound RO & NF, Ion Exchange membranes and stacks, ozone generators & power supply units and UV systems.

Before their time at SUEZ, Geert-Henk Koops worked at GE Water & Process Technologies from March 2005 to June 2020. Geert-Henk held the position of Technology Leader for the UF/MBR division and later became the Director of R&D Membranes. In their roles, they led the global technology team responsible for developing hollow fiber membrane products for surface water filtration, waste water treatment, and biological processes.

Prior to their corporate roles, Geert-Henk Koops worked as an R&D Manager at the European Membrane Institute Twente from September 1994 to February 2005. Geert-Henk started and developed a small team within the University of Twente that focused on bridging the gap between science and industrial applications in the field of Membrane Science and Technology. Geert-Henk managed confidential research projects related to a wide range of membrane-related topics.

Their early work experience includes being a Researcher at the National Institute of Materials and Chemical Research from August 1992 to August 1994, where they worked under the guidance of Dr. S. Yamada and Prof. S. Yamaguchi on a STA Scholarship.

Geert-Henk Koops' expertise lies in product development, membrane technology, water treatment, and research management.

Geert-Henk Koops obtained their Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Twente in the Netherlands from 1983 to 1988. Later, they continued their education at the same university and earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Membrane Technology from 1988 to 1992.
