Joris de Grooth has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development, specifically in polymeric membrane innovations and their applications. Joris is currently serving as the Research and Development Director at NX Filtration since July 2021. Prior to this role, they held the position of Research Manager at the same company from January 2016 to July 2021, where they were responsible for developing polymeric membrane innovations on a large scale.

Before joining NX Filtration, Joris worked at the University of Twente. Joris served as an Assistant Professor since December 2018 and as a Senior Researcher from January 2015 to November 2018. During their tenure, they conducted research and contributed to the field of membrane technology.

Joris has also gained significant experience at Pentair X-Flow, where they worked as a Researcher from February 2008 to January 2015. Their responsibilities included the development of new membrane materials and processes, membrane fouling and cleaning, as well as beer filtration.

In addition to their work at Pentair X-Flow, Joris pursued a PhD study at the University of Twente from October 2010 to September 2014. This study focused on the development of new polymeric nanofiltration membranes based on Layer-by-Layer deposition of polyelectrolytes.

Joris began their professional journey with an internship at GE Plastics in 2004.

Joris de Grooth attended Thijcollege in Oldenzaal from 1993 to 1999, although it is not known whether they obtained a degree or studied a specific field during this time.
