David Bedford

David Bedford is an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Associate Director of Translational Sciences, Metabolism at Nxera Pharma since July 2025. Prior to this role, David held the position of Associate Director of Biosciences at Healx from May 2020 to May 2025 and has experience as a Principal Scientist in both pharmacology and immunology at Healx and Mission Therapeutics, respectively. David worked at Takeda from March 2011 to November 2016, leading therapeutic areas in cardiovascular and metabolic disease, managing multiple drug discovery projects, and building scientific teams for targeted research. Earlier research experience includes a postdoctoral associate role at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and a scientific officer position at the Institute of Cancer Research. David holds a Ph.D. in Medicine from UCL and a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology from the University of Portsmouth.
