Alex Sheen

Alex Sheen is a Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University - College of Dentistry since 2018 and a Pediatric Dentist at NYC Health + Hospitals since 2019. Currently serving as a Dental Public Health Resident at Jacobi Medical Center, Alex has also held roles such as the Samuel D. Harris Research and Policy Fellow at the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Pediatric Dentistry Policy Fellow at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, both in 2022-2023. Prior experience includes completing a Pediatric Dentistry Residency at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh from 2016 to 2018, working as a Line Cook at Bassanova Ramen in 2015-2016, and participating as a Margaret E. Mahoney Fellow at The New York Academy of Medicine in 2014. Alex began professional involvement with City Year as a Corps Member from 2011 to 2012. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duke University.
