Robert Furatero is an experienced Associate Scientist at the New York Genome Center since February 2016, specializing in whole genome sequencing (WGS) and whole exome sequencing (WES) library preparations, applying protocols such as TruSeq PCR-Free and Agilent SureSelect XT. Proficiency in quality control assays and the maintenance and operation of advanced laboratory instruments has been demonstrated, alongside collaboration with automation teams to enhance protocols. Previous roles include a Research Assistant at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where research focused on the regulation of the PTEN tumor suppressor, and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Stony Brook University, where experiments were designed to study the function of RbfA in E. coli. Robert Furatero holds a Master of Arts in Biotechnology from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Stony Brook University.
