Uday Evani

Uday Evani is a highly experienced data scientist and software engineer specializing in bioinformatics, with an extensive professional background spanning over 16 years. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at the New York Genome Center since February 2013, Uday has previously held various roles, including Senior Software Engineer and Scientific Software Engineer at the same institution. Prior to this, Uday worked as a Bioinformatician at Baylor College of Medicine, contributing to the deployment of the Atlas2 variant calling suite and developing an INDEL variant caller for high-coverage whole-exome sequencing. Uday's earlier experience includes roles as a Bioinformatics Programmer at the Buck Institute for Age Research and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Indiana University School of Medicine, focusing on protein aggregation and variant annotation, respectively. Uday holds a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from Indiana University Indianapolis.
