Shawnee Rice is an experienced professional with a focus on community health, child advocacy, and support for women affected by incarceration and violence. Currently serving as Program Lead for the Housing Navigation Program at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Shawnee previously held roles at Safe Horizon as a Clinical Forensic Specialist and Trauma Counselor, where efforts were directed at aiding child victims of abuse and families affected by intimate partner violence. Shawnee's experience includes leadership positions at the Women's Prison Association, overseeing quality assurance and data systems, as well as volunteer management roles at various organizations like Hour Children and AmeriCorps. Shawnee holds a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College and a Bachelor's in Sociology from Binghamton University.
