Matt Ericson

Assistant Managing Editor, News Platforms at The New York Times

Matt Ericson is the assistant managing editor for news platforms at The New York Times. Matt has over 25 years of experience in the news industry, having worked as a senior editor and web applications developer at The Philadelphia Inquirer and as an intern at The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Ericson is a highly skilled newsroom leader and technology innovator. Matt was instrumental in developing The Inquirer's first website in 1996 and played a key role in launching its successful online subscription service in 2003. Matt also helped create and launch The Times' news app in 2016.

Ericson is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
