Weiyi Cai is a seasoned professional in visual journalism with extensive experience across major media organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Editor, Visuals at The New York Times since March 2019, Weiyi has previously held the position of Graphics/Multimedia Editor within the same organization. Prior experience includes roles as a Data Visualization Developer at Thomson Reuters and Graphic Editor/Designer at The Washington Post. Weiyi also contributed as a Designer for Saint Joseph's University’s Department of Communication Studies, focusing on digital media identity and website development for Beautiful Social. Earlier in the career, Weiyi managed the layout team and graphic design for The Hawk Newspaper, interned at Studio Output, and engaged in various graphic design internships, including work with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program. Weiyi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and Art History from Saint Joseph's University and completed a summer session in Graphic Design and Photography at Yale University.
