Jose Teruel

Jose Teruel is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Medical Physicist at NYU Langone Health since July 2017, following a year as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, San Diego, where tools for automated quality assurance and image processing were developed for the ABCD study. Jose Teruel completed a PhD in Medical Technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, focusing on clinical 3T MRI research for breast cancer applications. Additional experiences include consultancy on image processing software for diabetic patients at Austin Health, visiting research at NYU Langone Medical Center, and quantifying bone structure in rheumatoid arthritis patients at the University of California, San Francisco. Jose Teruel’s educational background includes a CAMPEP Certificate in Medical Physics from the University of Florida, a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Image Sciences from Utrecht University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Universidad de Sevilla.
