Steve Ritea

Steve Ritea currently serves as Senior Director of Media Relations at NYU Langone Health, a position held since August 2022. Prior to this role, Steve was the Chief Media and Executive Communications Officer at the University of California, Los Angeles from September 2017 to August 2022, and previously held several positions at UCLA, including Senior Executive Director of Executive Communications and Senior Executive Director of Media Relations & Public Outreach. Steve's earlier experience includes serving as Press Secretary for the New York City Fire Department and working as a Staff Writer for Newsday. Steve began a career in journalism at The Times-Picayune, eventually serving as Deputy Metro Editor, and also worked as a Correspondent for The Philadelphia Inquirer. Steve holds a Master's degree in Journalism from New York University and a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
