Jay Garden

Jay Garden is an experienced information security professional currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer and Strategic Advisor for Information at NZ Police since May 2015. Previously, Jay held the position of Business Security Manager at NBN Co Limited from January 2013 to May 2015 and worked as a Principal Consultant at stratsec from March 2012 to January 2013. In earlier roles, Jay was an IT Security Specialist at Meridian Energy and a consultant at the New Zealand State Services Commission. Experience also includes working as a contractor with the State Services Commission and managing at the Centre for Critical Infrastructure Protection. Jay's career began as an IT security analyst for the New Zealand Government and as an Apprentice/Service Technician at TISCO. Educationally, Jay holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Information Science from the University of Otago, completed between 1991 and 1994.
