Jeremy O'Brien

Jeremy O'Brien is an experienced professional in the field of transportation engineering and management, currently serving as the Manager of Sector Research and Behavioural Science at NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi since May 2012. This role involves leading a team that delivers in-depth research into transportation challenges and advises on behavioural science related to transport in New Zealand. Prior positions include Manager of Business Insight Direction, Lead Advisor for Sustainable and Equitable Transport, and Manager of Transport Strategy & Systems, all contributing to strategic development and operational integration within the transportation sector. O'Brien's earlier experience includes significant roles as a Senior Transportation Engineer at Beca, Traffic and Communications Team Leader for the Newmarket Viaduct Replacement Project, and Traffic Management Design Manager for a major motorway upgrade. O'Brien holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
