Mark Rushworth

Mark Rushworth has a diverse work experience spanning over different industries and positions. Mark started their career in 2000 as the Head of Interactive Development at ITV. Mark then moved to Telecom Mobile in 2001, where they worked as the Marketing Manager for New Media & Consumer Mobile. In 2003, they joined AHL - Investment Management as the Group General Manager - Consumer. Mark became the CEO of ihug in 2005 until the successful sale of the company to Vodafone NZ in 2008. Mark then joined Vodafone New Zealand and held various roles, including CEO of the Fixed Line & Broadband Business Unit and Chief Marketing Officer. In 2010, Mark co-founded Pacific Fibre and served as the CEO, raising significant capital and securing contracts. Mark later became the CEO of Paymark, New Zealand's leading electronic payments company, from 2013 to 2017. Mark also served as the Chairman of Genoapay, a global payment platform, from 2017 to 2018. Currently, they work as the Group Chief Executive Officer at UP Education.

Mark Rushworth earned their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics from the University of Canterbury between 1989 and 1992. Mark then pursued a Masters of Engineering in Management at the University of Canterbury from 1992 to 1993. Additionally, they briefly attended Victoria University of Wellington in 1989, but did not receive a degree or specify a field of study.
