Reynold Liao

Director Engineering, Hardware at NZXT

Reynold Liao has a diverse and extensive work experience in various engineering and management roles. Reynold started their career as a Mechanical Design Engineer at VeeLite/WideLite in 1990 and then worked as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Dresser Wayne from 1993 to 1997. Reynold then joined Dell in 1997 as a Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer and later became a Senior Engineering Manager, overseeing the design and development of various computing platforms. At Dell, they managed globally distributed engineering teams and worked closely with development partners in Asia. In 2013, they worked at Beats by Dr. Dre as a Senior Engineering Manager, focusing on speaker products. From 2014 to 2015, they co-founded Frostalicious LLC. Afterward, they joined Compound Photonics as a Director of Engineering, leading a team responsible for product development, design, manufacturing, quality, and safety compliance. Reynold had extensive experience working with development partners domestically and in Asia. Finally, they currently hold the position of Director of Engineering, Hardware at NZXT, Inc., where they manage all hardware development, including computer chassis, cooling solutions, lighting solutions, and accessory product lines. Reynold oversees a globally distributed engineering team and has extensive experience with development partners in Asia.

Reynold Liao obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from The University of Texas at Austin, where they studied from 1986 to 1990. Reynold then pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) at St. Edward's University from 1994 to 1997, specializing in Business Administration and Management.
