Louisa Behnke

Louisa Behnke is an experienced educator and outdoor guide with a diverse background in supporting individuals with learning and physical disabilities, as well as leading adventure-based activities. Currently serving as a paraeducator at Durango High School since August 2023, Louisa previously held positions as a teaching assistant at Manchester Essex Regional High School and a ski instructor at Purgatory Resort. In the outdoor sector, Louisa has worked as a whitewater rafting guide for OARS Companies, Inc., and co-founded Women in the Wilderness LLC, successfully fundraising for outdoor education initiatives. Additional roles include leading activities at Magee Homestead and wrangling at A Bar A Ranch and Latigo Ranch. Louisa holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from Fort Lewis College, completed in May 2020.
