Serena Zunino is a postdoctoral researcher at the Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale since November 2014, focusing on ecosystem services valuation and analyzing the impacts of climate change on the marine environment. Previously, Serena completed a PhD thesis on the assessment of acidification impacts in the Mediterranean Sea, and has held internships at the National Institute of Biology, studying the coral species Cladocora caespitosa, and at the Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale, investigating prokaryotic physiology in mesocosm studies. Additionally, Serena worked as a marine biologist at Thudufushi Island Resort, leading snorkeling excursions and educational lectures. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Environmental Biology from Università degli Studi di Trieste and participation in an Erasmus program at the University of Lisbon.
