Rakesh Garg

Rakesh Garg has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Rakesh is the Founder and Head of Wind at O2 Power since December 2019. Prior to this, they served as the VP- Project Development at ReNew Power from April 2015 to December 2019, where they were responsible for managing government relations, contract discussions with OEMs, and contract management with vendors. Before ReNew Power, Rakesh held the position of General Manager- Project Development at GAMESA WIND TURBINES PRIVATE LIMITED from June 2013 to March 2015, where they were involved in finalizing contracts and procurement of land for wind power projects. Rakesh also served as the Head of Project Development (Western Region) at Vestas Wind Tech India Pvt Ltd from January 2008 to May 2013, where they developed wind farms across Maharashtra. Rakesh's earlier experience includes positions such as Sr. Manager at Vestas Wind Tech India Pvt Ltd from 2008 to 2011, and Sr. Manager at Enercon India Ltd from November 2005 to January 2008. Rakesh began their career as a Manager at Bharti Healthcare Limited in February 1996 and was later promoted to Assistant Manager (PPC & Sales Coordination) in April 1998.

Rakesh Garg completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical field of study from South Gujarat University, which they pursued from 1991 to 1995. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Surat from 1991 to 1995. Later, they enrolled at Management Development Institute and completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Operations and Finance from 2000 to 2003.
