Owen Gormley has extensive work experience in various companies and roles. Owen started their career at Stratton & Reekie PR as an Account Executive, where they managed media relations for UK architects and interior designers. Owen then joined Digital Film Group as an Office Manager. In 2005, they joined BCLC and held multiple positions, including Marketing Specialist, Communications Officer, Senior Channel Specialist, Manager of Channel and Corporate Account Group, and Senior Manager of Strategic Planning and Implementation. Owen's responsibilities at BCLC included managing retailer communications, merchandising, and strategic projects. Owen also played a key role in the successful execution of priority projects, such as the re-launch of Lotto 6/49, which resulted in a significant increase in sales. In 2014, Owen returned to O2E Brands, where they served as the Director of Strategy, Implementation, and Analytics. Owen later progressed to become the Vice President of Strategy & Business Operations, Executive Vice President of Customer and Strategy, and currently the Chief Operating Officer of O2E Operations. In these roles, Owen was responsible for defining business strategies, managing budgets, and leading cross-functional teams.

Owen Gormley has a diverse educational background. In 1992, they enrolled at the University of Victoria and completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1996. After a significant gap, in 2009, they pursued the Sauder Business Leadership Program at The University of British Columbia, where they earned a Certificate in 2012.

In 2013, Owen furthered their education by obtaining a Master's Certificate in Project Management from the University of Victoria. The same year, they also obtained the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute.

Owen continued to enhance their professional skills by acquiring additional certifications. In December 2013, they completed the Designing Gamification - Level 1 course offered by Engagement Alliance. In January 2015, they obtained the Predictive Index Analyst certification from The Predictive Index. Lastly, in June 2016, they completed the Business Model Canvas Masterclass provided by Strategyzer.
