Mikal Hemingway

Mikal Hemingway is an experienced librarian currently serving as a Teen Librarian and former Children Librarian at the Oakland Public Library since February 2020. Prior to this role, Mikal worked at Hearts Leap Preschool as an Infant Teacher from December 2017 to February 2020, and at Aquatic Park School as a Duckling Preschool Teacher from March 2014 to December 2017. Mikal also has experience in various roles at Mills College, including Residential Assistant and Institute for Civic Leadership Program Assistant, contributing to community engagement and supporting student parents. Mikal holds a Master of Arts in American and British Literatures from Mills College, a Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Mills College, among other academic credentials.
