Shani Boyd

Shani Boyd is an experienced children's librarian with a focus on youth programming, currently serving as Children's Librarian II at Oakland Public Library since August 2021. Previously held positions include Children's Librarian I at Oakland Public Library and Library Assistant I/Librarian I at Marin County Free Library, along with various library roles in both Belvedere Tiburon Library and Mill Valley Public Library. Shani earned a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University and a Bachelor's degree in International Affairs and Commerce from the University of the Pacific, where involvement included management of student clubs, senate leadership, and study abroad experience in Cuba. Additional professional background includes foundational work with sales at Gap Inc./Old Navy and assisting peers in educational settings.
