Erika Gonzalez

Erika Gonzalez is an experienced educator with a strong background in early childhood education. Currently serving as a Kindergarten Lead Teacher at Oakland Unified School District since August 2020, Erika also holds the position of Founding Kindergarten Teacher at Roses in Concrete Community School since August 2015. Prior roles include Kindergarten Teacher at Aspire Public Schools from August 2011 to June 2015, and Co-Director and Youth Program Coordinator at PODER from June 2001 to August 2010. Erika has additional experience as a Teacher at Austin Independent School District from August 2003 to May 2010, a Teaching Artist at Theatre Action Project between 2005 and 2010, and a Mentor Teacher with AmeriCorps from August 1998 to July 2002. Erika obtained a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from St. Edward's University between 1998 and 2003 and continued education at the University of California, Berkeley in 2013-2014.
