Michael Trefz

Michael Trefz, CFA, currently serves as the Head of Capital Formation for the Americas and Managing Director at Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., a position held since 2019. Prior to this, Michael was a Managing Director at Solus Alternative Asset Management from 2015 to 2019 and worked at Brevan Howard as a Marketer/Product Specialist from 2012 to 2015. Earlier roles include Director at Wedge Alternatives Ltd. and VP of Capital and Developments at R2i International, Ltd. Michael's career began as Associate/VP - Head of Business Development at Tech Start-up (SpD Inc.) followed by a position as Fixed Income Derivatives Analyst in GE Capital's Financial Management Program, highly regarded in the industry. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Connecticut.
