Tobias Backer

Mr. Backer began working with Oaktree’s European Principal Group in 2016. He previously worked for ICON Investments as a managing director, responsible for ICON’s investments in the maritime space, consisting of sale/leaseback transactions, mezzanine loans and joint venture investments. Prior thereto, Mr. Backer worked for DNB Bank and Fortis Bank (now BNP Paribas), focused on the maritime sector. He holds a B.S. in business administration and a B.A. in international relations from Boston University. Mr. Backer is a native Norwegian speaker.
