Yawar Amin

Yawar Amin has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. 🍁 Yawar is currently working as the Lead, Software Engineering at OANDA since March 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Team Lead at OANDA from August 2021. Before joining OANDA, Yawar worked as a Software Engineer at OANDA from October 2019 to August 2021. 🍁 Yawar gained experience as a Senior Engineer at Publicis Sapient from July 2018 to October 2019, where they built backend systems for a large Canadian retailer using Scala/Play Framework/NodeJS/Flowtype. Yawar also worked as a Software Engineer (Technical Consultant) at LoyaltyOne in 2018, and as a Software Engineer at Architech in 2017. 🍁 Yawar started their career in the tech industry as a Scala Developer at Mediative in 2015, where they built data science systems and provided support for maintaining them. Yawar's work experience also includes roles as a Pricing and Procurement Analyst at Wheels Group from 2012 to 2015, and as an Accounting Clerk at SGS from 2008 to 2012. Prior to entering the tech industry, they worked as a Teacher at Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. in 2008.

Yawar Amin completed a Bachelor of Business and Commerce degree in Econometrics and Business Statistics from Monash University from 2005 to 2008. In 2010 and 2011, they also obtained a Certificate of Professional Development in Database Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Yawar Amin has additional certifications, including an edX Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Functional Programming in 2015 and a Software as a Service certification from edX in 2013.
