Joshua Harris

Vice President, Public Engagement at Obama Foundation

Joshua Harris has a diverse and extensive work experience in various government and political roles. Joshua began their career as a Clerk in the United States Attorney's Office at the U.S. Department of Justice in 2008. From there, they worked in multiple positions at Organizing for America (OFA) from 2010 to 2012. In 2013, they became the Midwest Political Director at the Democratic National Committee. Joshua then served as the Northeast Regional Field Director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2014. In 2015, they became the Chief of Staff at the Mayor's Office of Talent and Appointments and a Senior Advisor at D.C.H.R. in the Government of the District of Columbia. In 2016, they worked as the Director of Data and Reporting for AARP's Take a Stand Campaign. Joshua then joined the Office of the City Treasurer, City of Chicago, as the Director of Partnerships from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, they became the Director of External Affairs at the Cook County Government - Office of the President. After that, they worked as the Associate State Director for Advocacy & Outreach at AARP from 2019 to 2022. In 2022, they became the Director of Community Engagement & Government Affairs at the Obama Foundation, and later in 2023, they were promoted to Vice President of Public Engagement.

Joshua Harris obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of New Orleans in 2008. Prior to that, they attended Lamar High School from 2000 to 2004. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained a certification in Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn in the year 2020.
