Kelly Jo Smart

Kelly Jo Smart is an experienced photo editor currently serving as the Senior Photo Editor at the Obama Foundation since March 2018. Previous roles include Freelance Photo Editor at The New York Times from January 2021 to January 2022, Photo Editor at NPR from February 2017 to October 2017, and various positions at The White House between May 2015 and January 2017, including Associate Digital Producer, Special Assistant to the Chief Digital Officer, and Photo Office Intern. Kelly Jo Smart holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Photojournalism from the Rochester Institute of Technology, earned between 2011 and 2015.
