Obama Leader: Asia-pacific at Obama Foundation

Vivienne Chew is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy, advocacy, and program management within the fields of human rights and refugee support. Currently serving as the National Policy and Advocacy Advisor at Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia since September 2023 and as an Obama Leader for the Asia-Pacific region at the Obama Foundation since December 2019, Vivienne has previously held key positions including Senior Program Manager at the International Women's Development Agency and Asia Pacific Regional Coordinator at the International Detention Coalition. Additional roles include Acting Co-Director at the Malaysian Child Resource Institute, where Vivienne coordinated significant research on children's rights, and various leadership positions at Asylum Access in both Tanzania and Thailand. Vivienne’s legal background includes work as an associate at Clifford Chance LLP and Clifford Chance (Thailand) Limited, advising on cross-border transactions. Academically, Vivienne holds a Master’s degree in International Human Rights from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, and a Law degree from the University of Wales, Cardiff.
