Justin Emeka

Justin Emeka serves as an Associate Professor of Theatre & Africana Studies at Oberlin College since 2006, specializing in Directing, Acting, Movement, Shakespeare, Black and Brown Playwrights, and Capoeira Angola. Emeka holds an M.F.A. in Directing from the University of Washington and a B.A. in African-American Studies from Oberlin College. In addition, Emeka has a diverse directing portfolio that includes roles as Resident Director at Pittsburgh Public Theater, where responsibilities involve directing productions and consulting on season planning and community engagement. Other notable directing positions featured productions at The Juilliard School, Karamu House, New York University Graduate Acting, Philadelphia Theatre Company, and Classical Theatre of Harlem.
