Matt Lahey currently serves as the Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of the Board at Oberlin College, a position held since February 2022, where responsibilities include managing legal affairs and liaising with the Board of Trustees. Prior to this role, Lahey was a Concurrent Professor of Law at Notre Dame Law School from January 2019 to January 2022, teaching courses in Employment Discrimination Law and Labor & Employment Law. Additionally, Lahey served as Associate General Counsel for the University of Notre Dame from September 2013 to January 2022, advising senior leadership on various legal and strategic employment issues. Lahey’s earlier experience includes serving as a Partner at Schiff Hardin LLP for over a decade, where expertise in labor and employment law was developed, and as a Law Clerk at the U.S. District Court. Lahey holds a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.
