Denise Pickering

Denise Pickering has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Denise began their career as a Shift Manager at The Border Grill from 1999 to 2002.

From 2002 to 2005, Denise worked at Drs. Foster & Smith, where they served as a Call Center Supervisor and later as the Assistant Director of Live Aquaria. In their roles, they supervised and managed a team of call center agents, resolved customer issues, conducted employee evaluations, and trained new employees.

Denise then joined Ameriprise Auto & Home Insurance in 2006 and held various positions until 2017. Denise started as a Property Damage Claims Representative and later became a Senior Auto Claims Supervisor. In their final role at the company, they served as a Claims Process Analyst II, leading projects to improve business processes and utilizing data analysis techniques.

In 2017, Denise joined CONNECT, powered by American Family Insurance. Denise initially worked as a Business Relationship Manager, collaborating with various stakeholders to align operational objectives. Denise also took on the role of Program Manager before transitioning to the position of Senior Information Technology Manager, overseeing project managers and scrum masters.

Denise's most recent position is as a Senior Business Analyst at Obie, where they ensure operational objectives are aligned across different departments by collaborating with subject matter experts. Denise also translates requirements into testing plans and tracks any gaps identified during development.

Denise Pickering earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Marketing from Northern Michigan University, where they studied from 1997 to 2003. In addition to their formal education, Denise has obtained several certifications, including Professional Kanban I from ProKanban.org in November 2022, Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) from Scrum.org in August 2022, and various other certifications related to bias, Agile methodologies, emotional intelligence, and leadership skills.
