Olivier Van Acker

Olivier Van Acker has over 8 years of experience in the technology industry. Olivier began their career in 2012 as Head of Engineering at Mind Candy, where they led a team of 60 in Engineering and QA and was responsible for hiring, training, motivating, and overseeing the performance of front-end/back-end engineers, technical leads, technical artists, 3D/2D artists, testers, QA Manager, and third party technical vendors. In 2013, they became the CTO of Immerse Learning, where they defined and executed the technical strategy for the company and helped to develop action plan for Series A funding. In 2015, they joined McKinsey & Company as a Digital Consultant, advising major corporations on how to optimise their Software Development Lifecycle and modernise their technology stack. In 2016, they became a Solutions Architect at Tesco PLC. In 2018, they took on the role of Global Head of Engineering (Agile Hub) at Shell, where they built a 200+ engineering team in 3 regions and 5 locations, working on 20+ products. In 2019, they joined 10x Future Technologies as Head of Infrastructure Engineering (Interim) and also became a Tech Advisor at Antler, a global start-up generator and early stage VC. In 2021, they took on the role of CTO at Hazy, and in 2023 they became the Chief Technology Officer at OBRIZUM.

Olivier Van Acker completed an MSc in Computer Science from Birkbeck, University of London between 2009 and 2012. Olivier has also obtained three additional certifications from Coursera: Mathematics for Machine Learning: Linear Algebra (October 2019), Julia Scientific Programming (July 2019), and Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach (February 2017).
