Daniel Platt

Senior 3d Artist at Obsidian Entertainment

Daniel Platt has a diverse range of work experience in the gaming industry. Daniel started their career at Electronic Arts as a Quality Assurance Game Tester in 2004. From 2005 to 2007, they worked at Shiny Entertainment as a Technical Artist/Character Artist, where they led a rigging team and built riggings for various characters and objects.

In 2008, Daniel joined Double Helix Games as a Character Artist, where they created character models, props, and weaponry for games such as Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters and Front Mission Evolved.

Daniel then moved on to FireForge Games as a Lead Artist from 2011 to 2013, where they worked closely with the Art Director to define the game style and manage a team of artists.

Starting in 2013, Daniel joined Obsidian Entertainment as a Senior 3D Artist, specializing in character and environment art. Daniel played a key role in creating high-quality robotic characters for The Outer Worlds. Daniel also provided feedback and critiques to external art houses to maintain the project's artistic standards.

In addition to their industry work, Daniel also served as a Part-Time Instructor at Laguna College of Art and Design from 2015 to 2020. Daniel taught level design and mentored students on working in a game development studio and preparing their portfolios.

Daniel Platt attended The Art Institutes from 2000 to 2001, but did not earn a degree or pursue a particular field of study during that time. Daniel then went on to attend the Art Institute of California: Orange County from 2001 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Media Arts and Animation.
