Kathryn Holderness

Kathryn Holderness has an extensive work experience spanning multiple industries. Their most recent role is Director, CMC Operations and Strategy at Obsidian Therapeutics, where they have been since 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Director, CMC Project Management at Obsidian Therapeutics from 2021 to 2023.

Before joining Obsidian Therapeutics, Kathryn worked at Lonza for several years, starting as a Research Associate III in R&D Cell Biology in 2014 and progressing to roles such as Cell Therapy Process Development Lead Scientist and Scientist R&D Emerging Technologies. Their last role at Lonza was Associate Director, Program Management Group Lead - Viral Vector, where they served from 2020 to 2021.

Kathryn also gained experience at The National Institutes of Health as a Technical IRTA from 2013 to 2014, and at Creek Wood High School as a Mathematics Teacher from 2012 to 2013. Kathryn's early career includes a long-term position as a Research Associate at Montana State University-Bozeman from 2002 to 2012.

Kathryn Holderness holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from the University of Maryland, which they completed from 2017 to 2019. Prior to this, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Immunology and Infectious Diseases from Montana State University-Bozeman, spanning from 2009 to 2012. Kathryn also holds Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Biology, both obtained from Hollins University, where they studied from 1996 to 2001.
