OCAS
Sohrab Rahmaty is an accomplished researcher and writer lead at OCAS since August 2022, with a strong background in employer relations and research coordination at the Workforce Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington from July 2019 to August 2022. Prior roles include employment coordinator and social planning researcher at Immigrant Services - Guelph Wellington, where Sohrab planned employment initiatives for refugees and newcomers and produced essential reports and policy briefs. Additional experience includes a position as a job description writer and researcher for the Region of Waterloo, and a systematic review analyst at The Community Engaged Scholarship Institute, University of Guelph, focusing on the impacts of policy changes due to the 2008 financial crisis. Sohrab also contributed to academia as a graduate teaching assistant and representative while earning a Master's degree in Political Science and Public Policy, along with an Honours Bachelor's in Finance and Political Science from the University of Guelph, complemented by a certificate in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo.
