Amanda Tasse

Amanda Tasse serves as an Assistant Professor in the Media Arts & Culture Department at Occidental College since August 2020, specializing in Emerging Media. As the founder of Miraworld LLC since April 2015, Amanda focuses on design, direction, and animation for immersive and emerging media, including motion design and VR. Notable projects include directing segments of the film "Last Whispers" and the short film "Sunrise" for Lionsgate, as well as art direction for a VR adaptation developed by Emblematic Group. Amanda has also held academic positions at Oregon State University and the University of Southern California, where research encompassed experimental visualization practices and transmedia cinema related to science. Educational background includes a PhD in Media Arts Practices from the University of Southern California, along with a BFA and BA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and the University of Michigan, respectively.
