John Kurek

John Kurek is the Director at OccuRx and has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. John has worked with various companies including Kinoxis Therapeutics Pty Ltd, EXONATE LIMITED, Q-Sera Pty Ltd., Certa Therapeutics, and Axelia Oncology Pty Ltd. In their most recent position, they were responsible for managing the preclinical, clinical, and regulatory aspects of BioDiem’s drug development programs. Some of the drugs they have helped develop include a peptide for retinal eye disease, a small molecule for myocardial infarction, and a small molecule antimicrobial.

John Kurek has a long and successful educational career. John started out by completing a Graduate Diploma in Drug Evaluation & Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Melbourne. John then went on to complete a PhD in Neuroscience from the same school. After that, they completed a BSc (Hon) in Biochemistry from Monash University. Finally, they completed a Company Directors Course from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
