Anja Malawi Brandon

Anja Malawi Brandon, PhD, serves as the Associate Director of U.S. Plastics Policy at Ocean Conservancy, where efforts are focused on advancing policy solutions to eliminate plastic pollution and promote a sustainable circular economy. With experience as a U.S. Plastics Policy Analyst and a Congressional Science Fellow, Anja has contributed to significant legislative achievements, including California's SB 54. Anja's academic background includes a PhD and MS in Environmental Engineering and Science from Stanford University, complemented by research on plastic degradation and sustainability. Additionally, Anja has held leadership roles in various environmental organizations and participated in professional development programs to enhance expertise in environmental policy and leadership.
