Ocean Exploration Trust
Renato Kane has extensive experience in ocean exploration and geographical sciences. As an Expedition Leader, Mapping Coordinator, and Lead Navigator at Ocean Exploration Trust since June 2013, Renato has contributed to approximately 70 research expeditions on the E/V Nautilus, focusing on deep ocean research, seafloor mapping, and educational outreach. Previously, Renato served as a Teaching Assistant and later as an Instructor of Record at the University of Delaware, where responsibilities included teaching various GIS and geography courses. As a Research Assistant during graduate studies, Renato engaged in fieldwork and spatial data analysis, working on projects such as permafrost assessment in the Andes and sea ice measurements in the Arctic. Earlier roles included positions at DuPont and USDA-ARS. Renato holds a Master of Science in Geography and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Delaware.

The Ocean Exploration Trust (OET) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to exploring the ocean, seeking out new discoveries in the fields of geology, biology, maritime history, archaeology, and chemistry while pushing the boundaries of engineering, technology, education, and communications. We aim to share our story and our science with explorers via live telepresence from aboard Exploration Vessel Nautilus and around the world in order to inspire people to care about the oceans and excite the next generation of explorers. We promise to bring our audience cutting edge exploration, live from the bottom of the ocean as we explore seascapes that have never been explored before.
