Taylorann Smith is a dedicated marine researcher currently serving as a Research Assistant at UCLA, where responsibilities include supporting project scientists and contributing to workshop planning and outreach initiatives. In addition, Taylorann leads project facilitation for the Seagrant Pathways into Inclusive Research program at the Center for Diverse Leadership in Science, which focuses on providing mentorship and research opportunities to community college students. With extensive experience as a Deep-sea Biologist and Science Manager at the Ocean Exploration Trust, Taylorann is pursuing a Master of Science in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography at California State University, Northridge. Previous academic experiences include marine science research at Duke University and a Biology degree from Ball State University, complemented by a study at the University of Roehampton.
