Dr. Patrick K. Sullivan, Ph.D., P.E. has a long history of work experience in the fields of aerospace, engineering, information technology, and life sciences. In 1984, they founded Oceanit, a self-funded research and development technology incubator that today employs over 160 scientists, engineers and professionals. In 1991, they became Vice Chairman of the High Technology Development Corporation (HTDC). In 1995, they became Director of the Kauai Economic Development Board. In 2002, they co-founded Nanopoint, the award-winning developer of cellTRAY Fluidics and Imaging System products, and Hoana Medical Inc, a healthcare company focused on Intelligent Medical Vigilance. In 2013, they co-founded IBIS Networks, a spin-out from Oceanit Laboratories, Inc.
Dr. Patrick K. Sullivan, Ph.D., P.E. began their educational journey in 1978, earning a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Patrick K. then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Ocean Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1981, and finally earned a Doctorate in Ocean Engineering from the same institution in 1985. In 1995, they obtained a Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the State of Hawaii, and again in 2014 from the Government of Guam.
