John A. Elliott

John A. Elliott currently serves as the County Councilman and Chairman of the Oconee County Council in South Carolina since January 2019. Elliott has a strong background in financial management, having held various positions at Milliken & Company, including Director of Corporate Accounting and Director of US Financial Services, where oversight of global financial reporting and accounting functions was a primary responsibility. Additional experience includes tenure as Global Company Controller and Acting Chief Financial Officer at WestPoint Home, and a managerial role at McAbee, Talbert, Halliday & Co. Elliott holds a Master's in Accountancy from Clemson University and has completed the Advanced Executive Program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Participation in committees such as the Revenue, Finance, and Economic Development Steering Committee for the S.C. Association of Counties further highlights Elliott's commitment to public service and community development.
