IT Managed Services Lead at OCS Ontario Cannabis Store

Matt Williams has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Matt started their career as a General Office Assistant at Amercoat Canada in 2006. Matt then worked as a Night Audit / Guest Service Agent at Quality Inn and later as a Guest Service Representative at Hilton Garden Inn. In 2009, they joined Smart & Biggar as a Records Clerk.

In 2012, Matt became a Project Coordinator at Novvo, where they worked until 2013. Matt then moved on to IBM, where they held the positions of Junior Project Coordinator from 2014 to 2016 and Senior Project Coordinator from 2016 to 2017.

Following their time at IBM, Matt joined LCBO as an IT Project Coordinator for the Cannabis Project. Matt was responsible for liaising with IMS vendor partners and overseeing the transition and tracking of end-user accounts, hardware assets, software, and data migration to the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) instance.

In 2018, Matt transitioned to the OCS Ontario Cannabis Store itself and held the role of IT Services Coordinator until 2020. During their tenure, they championed ITIL principles and managed the IT Service Management (ITSM) process. Matt also ensured compliance with IT standards and processes and oversaw the prioritization and escalation of critical incidents.

Finally, Matt assumed the position of IT Managed Services Lead at OCS Ontario Cannabis Store in 2020. In this role, they were responsible for the full lifecycle of IT contracts, including managing various IT contractors and developers. Matt also handled vendor compliance documentation and financial controls for the IT cost centers.

Matt Williams obtained their Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Management from Toronto Metropolitan University, where they studied from 2004 to 2009.
