Naomi Handly is currently the Head of Platform at Octant. Prior to this, they were a Science Journalism Intern at Biotechniques from October 2016 to May 2017, where they pitched and wrote around three stories per week for a broad life science audience. Naomi has also worked as a PhD Candidate at the University of California, Los Angeles from September 2016 to June 2017, where their thesis title was "Epithelial wound response: How do cells know where they are and what to do after a wound?" During their time as a PhD Candidate, Naomi conducted epithelial cell wounding experiments, studied cellular communication following wounding, and wrote and edited technical manuscripts for publication.
Their manager is Sri Kosuri, Co-Founder & CEO. Carter Barger - Scientist, Platform Development, Dominic Ky - Platform Runner, and Jeff Tang - Technical Lead, Multiplexed Assay Platform report to Naomi Handly. They work with Rick Artis - Chief Scientific Officer, Diane Dickel - Head of Functional Genomics, and Michelle Wong - Head Of Operations.
