Cecile Carlson is an experienced Optical Systems Engineer currently employed at Octave Photonics since March 2023. Prior experience includes roles as an Optical Engineer at Snapchat, Inc. from December 2016 to May 2021 and as an Optical Systems Engineer at FiveFocal for a brief period in mid-2016. Cecile's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona, where research encompassed developing a unique small-animal adaptive single photon emission computed tomography system under the guidance of Dr. Lars R, along with simulations for a fiber amplifier design. Earlier positions include a Junior Optical Engineer co-op role at Mauna Kea Technologies, where interferometric tools were developed, and extensive research assistance throughout the educational journey. An educational foundation in optical engineering was formed at the Institut d'Optique Graduate School, culminating in a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree.

Our products include fiber-coupled devices for supercontinuum generation with 1550 nm lasers, the Comb-Offset Stabilization Module (COSMO) for f-2f self-referencing of laser frequency combs, and electro-optic frequency combs for generating ultra-stable pulse trains at 5 to 30 GHz repetition rates.
