Akash Kota, Ph.D., is a Senior Electrochemist at Octet Scientific, Inc., specializing in the development of III-Nitride based UV photodetectors for high-temperature applications since September 2022. Previously, Akash served as an Applied Physicist at Applied Optimization from September 2021 to May 2022. From October 2016 to May 2021, Akash worked at the University of Dayton as both a Teaching Assistant, instructing lab components on analog and digital integrated circuits, and a Research Assistant, collaborating on an NSF project focused on a cloud-based web interface for MEMS sensor design. In the summer of 2017, Akash completed a research internship at Norfolk State University, examining elasticity and surface stress profiles of red blood cells and human embryonic kidney cells. Akash holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Dayton, obtained in August 2022, as well as a Master's degree in the same field from the same institution and a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications Engineering from KL University.
