George Heinemann

George Heinemann is a seasoned professional with a strong background in forecasting and risk management within the energy sector. Currently serving as the Head of Group Forecasting at Octopus Energy since December 2019, previous roles include UK Energy Markets Risk & Forecasting Manager and Energy Procurement Analyst. Prior to Octopus Energy, George worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Mott MacDonald, where extensive numerical modeling experience was gained in forecasting airflows and temperatures in metro systems, along with utilizing probability risk frameworks for project cost-benefit analyses. An earlier position as a Sales & Operations Planning Data Analyst at Unilever involved developing a KPI Tableau dashboard that provided actionable insights across multiple disciplines. George holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Engineering, Economics & Management from the University of Oxford, completed in 2016.
