John Shay

John Shay is a seasoned software engineer with a robust background in both backend and full stack development. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Kraken since March 2022, John focuses on backend CRM systems using Python and Django, while also building GraphQL APIs for a large customer base. Previously, John held the position of Director/Software Engineer at RX Technology, providing freelance software development services, and gained substantial experience as a Full Stack Developer in GIS roles at Eagle Technology and Orbica. John's earlier roles as a Senior GIS Analyst and GIS/Information Systems Officer demonstrate strong expertise in GIS systems, server management, and database administration, further complemented by experience as a Geospatial Analyst in the New Zealand Defence Force.
