Gabriele Grassi

Gabriele Grassi currently serves as the Deputy Head of Division at the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency in the Division of Radioactive Waste Management and Decommissioning, a position held since January 2021. Prior to this role, Gabriele worked as a Nuclear Scientist in the Division of Nuclear Science and Education, focusing on advanced fuel cycles, including closure through partitioning and transmutation, as well as the GIF VHTR fuel cycle. From January 2012 to January 2021, Gabriele was employed at Orano as a Business Model Explorer and R&D Manager, where innovative solutions for the nuclear fuel cycle and R&D activities for used fuel reprocessing were explored and managed. Earlier experience includes positions as a Technical Leader at Framatome, specializing in reactor core physics and safety studies, and as a Research Engineer at CEA, focusing on neutronics and applied mathematics. Gabriele's education includes a Laurea in Nuclear Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, a PhD in Neutronics from Université Évry Paris-Saclay, and multiple master-level diplomas in related fields.
