Fares Al-Hussami is an experienced economist and project manager currently working at OECD-OCDE since February 2013. Prior to this role, Fares served as a researcher at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy from September 2011 to September 2012, contributing to studies on trade and youth unemployment. Fares began a career at the International Labour Organization (ILO) in July 2009, holding various positions including research officer and junior research economist, producing significant research on income inequality and labour market dynamics during the financial crisis. Fares' early experience includes an internship at Banque Saudi Fransi in 2005 focused on trade finance. Fares holds advanced degrees in Economics and International Economic Policy Research from respected institutions, including Université libre de Bruxelles and HEC Lausanne.
